William Murithi is a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship in the Management and Entrepreneurship Department at De Montfort University teaching both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes. He is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and has experience in teaching and supervising students on placements in companies, as well consulting and entrepreneurship projects for MSc and MBA programme students.  In addition, he organises innovative international engagement trips for undergraduate students through #DMUGlobal to Kenya to learn about "Doing Business in Africa", and ‘Social Entrepreneurship in Emerging Markets (SEEM), which include company visits and cultural experience with an aim of improving their business acumen, cultural intelligence, entrepreneurial knowledge and transferable employability skills.

William has acquired a diverse experience and expertise in strategic management and entrepreneurship consulting, finance and risk management, project management with an outstanding leadership record of accomplishment. William has previously founded two businesses, co-founded Kingdom Citizens a design and printing business, as well as Ennovation BASE Management and Consulting (EBMC) a premier consulting firm that specialises in providing integrated and bespoke solutions to start-ups, SMEs, and Entrepreneurs. 

William PhD research focused on Entrepreneurship and Family Business investigating the intersection between top-level-management strategic behaviours, firm performance and regional development. His research interests revolve around Entrepreneurship and Strategy, family and nonfamily firms’ differences, Entrepreneurship Context and Institutions, Industry Clusters, Regional Development, Women and Youth entrepreneurs, Entrepreneurship Education and Digital technology.

William is passionate about transforming lives and seeks to empower and inspire the youth to aspire for a better future through motivational speaking. He has experience in business coaching and promotes youth enterprise training programmes. Also, William volunteers and supports other youth and community initiatives such as Ubuntu Youth Group, EdSmart and Kevin Kararwa Leukimeamia Trust (KKLT) and DMU Squaremile project.
